I need to be quick because I don't have much time before my tablet restarts for updates as well as when the battery dies. No idea which will happen first but either way, I don't have much time. So I shall get right into it.
Love Stage
Mangaka Eiki Eiki and Taishi Zaou
Status: Complete; 7 volumes
Genre: Comedy, Yaoi
Summary: Izumi is born into a family of entertainer. Everyone in is family is famous. Except for Izumi. Though having a family like his gives him every opportunity to break into the entertainment world himself, Izumi has no interest in it. Instead, he wants to be a mangaka. His whole like is turned upside down however when he is forced to dress as a girl in a commercial where he meets Japan's current heart throb, Ryouma and who, thinking Izumi is a girl, confesses that he has been in love with him since they first meet 10 years ago.
My opinion: So, if you have read my post on Love Stage the anime, you should know how much I adore this story. And the manga is no different. Got, I just love each and every character so much. Every one is so much fun. Great character development with Ryouma and Izumi. I love the little scenes between Shougo and Rei and omg, I just love everything.
I will say as far as the final climatic scene, it was a bit cliche, probably could have been better, but it still doesn't change the fact that I love it so so so much. And omg, I did not realize it right away because I had stayed up super late on a work night to finish reading it, but it hit me during work that in the end, there's a little stab at american comics, which was awesome. I still laugh about it now.
I actually got depressed when it ended. I don't know if you have ever felt that way when something you have been so invested in ends. But I was depressed. There were a couple times where I nearly burst out in tears at work. It's been a long time since I've felt that way toward something. It was really nice. But at the same time I want more. I want so much more.
So yeah, if you couldn't quite tell, I really love Love Stage. It is one of my favorites. I will warn this is a yaoi, so if you don't like boy love with graphic sex scenes this won't be for you. Otherwise I highly recommend it if you haven't read it yet.
And there you have it. My thoughts on Love Stage. Leave a comment if you have read this manga too and what your thoughts where, I'd love to hear from you. Otherwise, I will hopefully see you again in a couple weeks with another post.
