Hello lovelies,
Would any of you like to be this waitress’s Valentine today? To all my beautiful nerds out there Happy V-day or as I prefer to call it Happy Singles Awareness Day. I work until 6 tonight and probably won’t be up until 7 to even begin posting so I’m taking advantage of my work break to bring you the next morsel to snack on.
So for all of you who prefer to spend today along playing dating sims like me, check out the newest dating sim game I’ve been playing!
Blood Code
Otome/visual novel game
Can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/2064/
What is it?: Starting in a new school is hard enough the way it is, only to be more difficult when tragedy strikes! Take classes with vampires and humans as you try to solve a murder, but make sure you don’t get too lazy in your classes or you just might flunk out. Schedule your classes, work, and dates and choose from four beautiful men to woo as this tale unfolds.
My Opinion: Okay so not going to lie, I’m a bit of a dating sim fanatic, I’d probably bring you twice as many dating sim posts if my wallet could afford it- so going into Blood Code. I was drawn to this dating sim because of the artwork and the interesting story line. When it went on sale on Steam I jumped at the chance to buy the Complete Edition which gave me a few extra outfits and music. The game itself isn’t extremely long, you can get through to an ending in about 3-4 hours depending on whether you skip through parts of the story or not. The story line was really interesting and I really did enjoy the artwork through the whole piece. It’s not an impossible game, but let’s say it took me forever to figure out the trick of it. I played through one character’s story 4 times before I finally got to his happy ending and omg the sad ending will truly crush your heart- no joke- at least one or two of them had me near tears, which makes the happy endings all the better to achieve. Once you figure out the general trick of the game the rest of the story lines go pretty smoothly except for the mystery character which took me another 4 tries to get his line figured out. On the whole I absolutely loved the game, I played it over the course of the week and I still haven’t played through all of the sad endings, I at last achieved all of the happy endings. One of the few things that drove me crazy at first was that the voice acting is all Chinese, but once I got used to it, it hardly drew away from the game. The character’s stories were all interesting and worth playing through. There is definitely a lot of emotion to be found in the game. If you do replay through to get different characters, if you’re not careful you can easily skip through the different scenes that pop up at different times depending on what routes you are going for. The music is also beautiful to listen too. Overall I really enjoyed this game, it’s really tame so pretty much any age can play it. I do highly recommend trying it out if you get the chance. I think my favorite character in the game ended up being the mystery character, but geeze they are all so amazing. If you don’t mind some mystery, vampires, and romance, be sure to check this out! (I promise the vampires don’t sparkle).
If you do decide to try out the game and get stuck feel free to let me know, I would love to help you out and answer any questions you have. Otherwise you can find people’s suggestions and tips on the steam forums for the game. This is a perfect game for playing on a quiet single’s awareness evening. I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
