Here is the chocolate zucchini cake recipe for you, if you would like to use ours. Or you can use your own or a box mix.
Cake molds are fun. This week Sami-chan bought one for the cafe. Someone was kind enough to share some Zucchini with us. So we made a chocolate zucchini cake. Frosted it with a cream cheese frosting. Gummy eye balls were found in the Halloween section of a local store. Mmmm. Scary and tasty fun.

This is a fun and easy way to make a fun Halloween treat for your hungry monsters. I made up our favorite Sloppy Joes and placed them in bread. I took our Halloween cookie cutters and cut out some fun shapes out of cheese slices. The kids love doing this part themselves. Easy and the kids help make supper. =}
You can use your own recipe for Sloppy Joes or use ours. AKA Creamy Cucumber Salad and Onions.
During Halloween it is fun to give your dishes a Halloween type name. Also would be a fun name to use for your Halloween Party. In our area garden season is pretty much over. My friend offered some garden fresh cucumbers and I was happy to get them. I will even share my recipe with you so you can enjoy Zombie Flesh and Worms. Hi everyone! Bringing you a fun spooky recipe. Spider nest cookies. I took Krusteaz Molten Deep Dish Classic Cookie mix. Fallowed the box directions. I had a bit of an issue getting the chocolate filling out of the pouch. There was just enough chocolate for 12 cookies. That is how many the mix is suppose to make. I let the cookies cool and added mini M&M for the spider eggs and used (washed) plastic spiders for decorations. The kids loved them. You can use pretty much any kind of cookies. It is a fun project that anyone can do.
In one of my earlier posts I mentioned that I bought rice ball cat shapers and we finally had some made up again for you to all see. I think they are absolutely adorable. I've also have found packets of a sweet and spicy salmon I love in the middle of my rice balls :) it's definitely worth trying.
So this isn't necessarily a recipe but this is jello I made for our two year anniversary because I thought it would make the perfect pool for my Splash Free boys. What do you all think? It's a jolly rancher blue raspberry jello with sprite used to give it a fizzy taste to it. I absolutely love it and thought it looked adorable when I was finished.
*Sami-chan Hi everyone. I wanted to share pictures of the wonderful birthday cake and figures that my family made for my birthday. It was such a wonderful surprise. In case you don't know the figures are the animal form of the characters of Fruits Basket. Fruit Basket is one of the first anime that I seen and I loved it. Don't bother counting the candles I am a bit older then that...LOL Not only did the cake look great it tasted great too. They also decorated the room with cherry blossoms and round Japanese paper lanterns. I felt very blessed and happy.
Has anyone else had an anime/manga themed party? How did it turn out? Cinder-San Okay who would totally go to one of these cafe's with me and translate for me because I really want to at least go to the Butler Cafe! Don't some of these look awesome! What themed cafe would you like to visit?

Here is a site I wanted to share with you all that I personally find amazing. http://www.jbox.com/category/819 . If you're someone who likes to get merchandise, snack foods, or other fun items from Japan be sure to check it out. I recently bought onigiri shapers for a party that I was throwing. They were an adorable cat set and I love them and will be using them over and over again as time goes on- hence the reason I placed it in our Cafe Specials section! The next time I make them I'll take pictures so you can see what they look like, but trust me they are super cute. I'm looking forward to being able to buy more from JBox soon. Maybe when my income is more steady I'll invest in the monthly snack boxes they offer. Seriously check it out I'm sure you'll find something awesome too! One of these days I shall own a bento box! *Sami-chan Hey everyone,
Its been a while since I've posted. Been busy with work and when I have been I've just been lazy, but Sami-chan has been nagging me to post something so I figured I would post a recipe since I haven't done one yet. I have been relentlessly scouring the internet in search of a good Japanese curry recipe that is made from scratch. I came across this recipe and omg fell in love with it. The best part about it is you really don't need to follow the recipe exactly. You can use pretty much anything you want or have on hand. The last time I made it I had forgotten the apple so instead I threw in a couple pieces of chocolate. The result was amazing and I really wouldn't mind "forgetting" the apple again. The recipe also calls for frozen peas, but I use frozen green beans instead which works really well, I just add them about 15 mins before the curry is done. This recipe also makes a pretty big batch. I have to half the recipe because, 1. it's just me and 2 I currently don't have a pot big enough. Someday I would like to get one so I can make a full batch, curry is something that only gets better with age. For me half a batch makes about 3 servings, but that varies depending on how big of helpings you want. It does take about 1.5-2 hrs to make so don't expect to make this for a quick weekday meal. I like to make it on the weekend then have the left overs during the week. Anyway, I shall now stop talking and give you the recipe. |
