Hey everyone,
Its been a while since I've posted. Been busy with work and when I have been I've just been lazy, but Sami-chan has been nagging me to post something so I figured I would post a recipe since I haven't done one yet. I have been relentlessly scouring the internet in search of a good Japanese curry recipe that is made from scratch. I came across this recipe and omg fell in love with it. The best part about it is you really don't need to follow the recipe exactly. You can use pretty much anything you want or have on hand. The last time I made it I had forgotten the apple so instead I threw in a couple pieces of chocolate. The result was amazing and I really wouldn't mind "forgetting" the apple again. The recipe also calls for frozen peas, but I use frozen green beans instead which works really well, I just add them about 15 mins before the curry is done.
This recipe also makes a pretty big batch. I have to half the recipe because, 1. it's just me and 2 I currently don't have a pot big enough. Someday I would like to get one so I can make a full batch, curry is something that only gets better with age. For me half a batch makes about 3 servings, but that varies depending on how big of helpings you want. It does take about 1.5-2 hrs to make so don't expect to make this for a quick weekday meal. I like to make it on the weekend then have the left overs during the week. Anyway, I shall now stop talking and give you the recipe.
